Michelle Manafy, editor-in-chief of our sister publication, eContent magazine, just wrapped up another ITI event—the Enterprise Search Summit West out in San Jose. Her most recent column, “Socializing Search,” touches on some of the themes the show covered. Now, she’s gearing up for Enterprise Search Summit East, which is held in NY (May 12-13). Michelle’s taking a very different tack with this one: While all previous summits have focused on “findability,” which covers a pretty broad swath of search tools, tactics, and issues; this time around she’s focusing on Enabling Information Access. She believes that search has become the primary way that people interact with information in the enterprise, and the NYC show will examine how organizations can maximize their investments in myriad systems by better deploying search. Her call for speakers just opened up—so if you’ve got something to say on this topic, submit your proposal by November 10.
