By now, we all know—thanks to some really creative marketing, and a really cute little green spokeslizard—that 15 minutes can save us 15 percent or more on car insurance.

“Yep, everyone knows that,” the commercials tell us.

“Well, did you know that …,” the newest campaign continues.

I particularly like the one about the Egyptian pyramids, but I digress.

So here’s my little-known, well-did-you-know-that…  fact: Did you know that you can build a contact center in 20 minutes?

20 minutes—that’s the time it takes to make lunch, catch all the latest news (a popular AM radio station here in New York says that if we give them 22 minutes they’ll give us the world), or watch your favorite half-hour show, without the commercials.

At DreamForce, Salesforce.com issued the challenge to break its existing record of 30 minutes to build a contact center integrated with Salesforce.  NewVoiceMedia and Twilio took the challenge, and had a contact center up and running, with full telephony infrastructure, call flow, automatic call distributors, WebRTC delivery, and intelligent routing capabilities,  in 20 minutes and 8 seconds.

I always heard that the cloud delivery model could speed time to deployment, but that is just lightning fast. Watch the video to see for yourself. It will only take 2 minutes and 33 seconds, and it might just make you happier than a camel on Wednesday.
