This past week, an Apple employee apparently lost an unreleased iPhone prototype at a San Francisco bar. While many would think this careless employee should be scoping the job boards right about now, several skeptics are sensing a trend.

Just last year, an iPhone 4 prototype was also left behind and inspired a similar investigation. Apple has declined to comment on this situation and the San Francisco Police Department says Apple has not filed a police report. Apple has since electronically traced the phone to a home in San Francisco belonging to the employee.

I’m still on the fence. Covering marketing has provided me with a lot unique stories and case studies. Let’s just leave at this – I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple is flexing its creativity muscle on this one.

What’s the adage? “fool me once…..”

I’m a fan of the GWB version:
“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — [pauses] — shame on you. Fool me — [pauses] — You can’t get fooled again.”
